Manage houses, rooms and beds
Rent a house as a whole, by room or by bed, with its own price for each.
The Houses page lists every house you manage. A house can be rented in three ways: the whole house, a single room, or a single bed in a room. One house can mix these, for example two rooms rented as rooms and another room rented by bed. Each one is its own listing with its own price.
Steps
- Open Houses under Property, then press New house. Fill in the house name and address.
- On the house page, press Add room. Name the room and choose Rent as: One room or By bed. For By bed, fill in the number of beds.
- Fill in the monthly price on each row, then turn on the Live switch for the ones you want to offer to guests.
- To rent out the whole house, press Offer the whole house and choose how it is priced: a fixed rate, from the cheapest room or bed, or the total of all rooms and beds.
- Fill in About the house (description and photos) and Things to know just once. Every room and bed shows these if it has no information of its own. The Photos button on each room adds photos of that room.
How bookings are blocked
A whole house booking blocks every room and bed inside it on the same dates, and a booking for one room or bed blocks the whole house. Neighbouring rooms or beds do not block each other. Each room is rented only one way at a time: changing Rent as turns off the listings for the other way, but existing bookings stay.
What it does not do
- A new listing copies the house information and starts as not live. It is not shown to guests until it has a price and its Live switch is turned on.
- The catalogue shows one card for each house that has more than one live listing. Guests choose the whole house, a room or a bed on the house page.
- Removed photos are no longer shown, but the original files stay in storage.
