What is Tenancy agreement?
Also known as Perjanjian penyewaan
A tenancy agreement is a written contract between owner and tenant that sets the term, rent, deposit, and the responsibilities of both parties. In Malaysia, lettings of three years or less are usually handled as a tenancy and must be stamped to be usable as evidence in court.
Stamping is done through LHDN and the rate depends on the annual rent and the term. Confirm the current rate with LHDN, because it changes.
