Rent payment reminder message template
A rent payment reminder is a polite message to a tenant before or on the date rent is due. It states the rent month, due date, amount, bank account for the transfer and payment reference, and asks tenants who have already paid to send their receipt so the payment can be marked as received.
Send it by WhatsApp or email a few days before the due date, or on the date itself.

- When is the best time to send a rent reminder?
- Most landlords send one three to five days before the due date, and again on the date if it is still unpaid. Keep to the same schedule every month so tenants know when to expect it.
- What is the difference between a rent reminder and an arrears notice?
- A reminder is sent before or on the due date in a friendly tone. An arrears notice is sent after the grace period ends, and states the amount overdue and any late charge set out in the agreement.
- Why is a payment reference needed?
- A reference such as the unit name and month makes it easier to match a bank transfer to the right tenant, especially if many tenants pay into the same account.
