WhatsApp with UrusPro
UrusPro and WhatsApp connect in two ways. WhatsApp buttons in the app open a chat with a message already written, for guests to contact the host and for hosts to send door codes or account links. Automatic messages when a booking is confirmed and paid are sent through the WhatsApp Business API configured by the UrusPro platform administrator.
What it does
- The Chat with host on WhatsApp button opens a chat with the unit name, dates, number of nights and booking reference already written.
- Add-on requests and maintenance complaints from guests are sent to the host as ready-written WhatsApp messages.
- Hosts send door codes, guest account activation links and add-on approvals through WhatsApp with one button.
- Activation links for tenants and letters to tenants can be sent through WhatsApp.
- An automatic Booking Confirmed message when a booking is approved, with dates and total.
- An automatic Access Code Ready message when a booking is paid, with the door code, check-in instructions and the host's WhatsApp number.
How to connect WhatsApp with UrusPro
When adding a tenant, press Share on WhatsApp to send the account activation link with a ready-written message.
Make sure the guest has a phone number on their account or booking, because automatic messages are sent to that number.
On the booking, press Send to guest in the smart lock section to send the door code, or Send via WhatsApp for an external guest's account link.
For automatic messages, ask the UrusPro team whether the WhatsApp Business API is switched on for the platform.
Where it stops
- WhatsApp buttons open the WhatsApp app with a message already written. You or the guest still press send yourselves.
- The Chat with host button only appears to guests if that listing has a host WhatsApp number.
- You cannot yet connect your own WhatsApp Business account. The API settings are held by the platform administrator, and if they are not switched on, no automatic messages are sent.
- Automatic messages are written in English with a fixed template, and only two kinds are sent: booking confirmation and door code.
- There is no automatic check-out reminder, and guest replies on WhatsApp do not come into UrusPro.

Frequently asked questions about WhatsApp
- Does UrusPro send automatic WhatsApp messages to guests?
- Yes, two messages: a booking confirmation when approved, and the door code when paid. They are sent only if the platform's WhatsApp Business API is switched on and the guest has a phone number.
- Do I need my own WhatsApp Business API account?
- No, and for now you cannot connect your own account. Automatic messages use the platform settings. The ordinary WhatsApp buttons work with WhatsApp on your phone without any setup.
- Do guest messages on WhatsApp come into UrusPro?
- No. UrusPro opens a chat with a message already written, but replies stay in your WhatsApp.
- Can I send a TTLock door code through WhatsApp?
- Yes. On the booking, the Send to guest button opens WhatsApp with the code and its validity period already written, and the automatic door code message is sent when the booking is paid if platform WhatsApp is switched on.
