• The Starter package is listed as free with 12% commission, and the paid packages are listed as 0% commission.
• The page offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and a 10% discount for annual payment.
• The page footer states Softinn Solutions Sdn. Bhd., built in Melaka, for hotels in Southeast Asia.

Why Malaysian operators look for something else

• A daily price makes monthly budgeting harder: MYR 9.00 a day is about RM 270 a month for one property.
• The free package carries 12% commission on every booking, so it stops being free once bookings come in.
• The product is sold as a hotel system, and small homestay owners usually only need a calendar, direct bookings and cleaner operations.
• Long-term monthly rentals are not part of the hotel software world.

Options, by situation

1. Option 1

   It is sold as a hotel system and carries modules such as kiosk and front desk management. If that is what you run, switching to a homestay tool is a step backwards.

   A spreadsheet, for now

   For: One unit with a few bookings a month.

   Below a certain point, any system adds work without adding revenue. The trouble starts at the second unit or the second channel.
